With several people asking me over the years to make a 10″ Atom Smasher, I was reluctant to do so because it was such a tough thing to do from scratch with my original custom of him. But with requests of him by collectors to Mattel to make it had fell short. With a lot of thought, I finally managed the time and material to do it myself using my original as the master to mold.
Carefully took the figure apart and did a few modifications for molding and made the belt onto the torso because the original belt that was made for it was a decoupage add-on.

the molds for this figure is huge. if you thought Clayface was big, now you can think again. After about 37 hours in total time to make the molds, this is the results.

Cleaned up just the arms a bit where they connect to the torso and drilled holes to use dowels for arm pegs. the legs have pegs and so does the head. the torso will have to be drilled too in order to connect the parts. just a little work like most castings I make but on a very large scale.

This will be coming to the store very shortly.

I know I haven’t had a whole lot of time lately to break out some new items for the store but I did manage to get the molds finished for a small project I have been working on from time to time in the past month or so. A while back I did a molding job for Greatwhite and he had me mold up this Killer Moth head he sculpted. It was tough to cast because of all the pointed ends to it. So I took it upon myself to help it out by improving upon it by re-shaping the antennas, the eye brow of the mask and cutting back a little on the tusks of the mask for molding purposes and while I was at it went ahead with adding the ear cups to be like the comic version of the character. Since I went that far, I decided to make a bash kit for it to take out the hard part for customizers to put together on any body base of choosing. Made the wings, pack for the wings to fit into and a gun holster. So look for this to be coming to the store on my next update (whenever that may be)

I managed to take a group photo of a few recent 3rd ranked villains. Enjoy the group shot.

I was tinkering around with making body for the Puppeteer head and was able to nail down a base look for him. It was tough to find what to use for the gloves and boots detail but I managed to find some tiny cut outs to create the raised detail needed to get it close to what he looks like in the JLU Legion. Here is what I was able to come up with as my prototype and possibly have it ready for molding this fall. Just another step moving forward to get the background characters made. Hopefully I’ll find more extra time to tinker around to get more characters made and maybe get turned into castings.
